Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga offers a gentle mix of Hatha and Kundalini styles to help mothers-to-be prepare physically, emotionally and spiritually for the wondrous experience of birth. Exercises focus on softening and opening the hips, and increasing strength and stamina, tools a mother will need once labor begins. Each class also includes breath work to create a feeling of relaxation, another tool for labor. Some classes may also include meditation. Studies have shown that prenatal yoga improves sleep, and decreases a mother’s risk for preterm labor and high blood pressure.
