Mindful Basics

Focus on Foundational Poses

Moderately paced asana practice with emphasis on the meditative aspect of Yoga. Inspired by both Buddhist and Yogic philosophy, as well as the Sciences. This class will focus on the foundational poses and is appropriate for all levels.

Kundalini Yoga

Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan

Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of awareness. The class sequences are passed down from Yogi Bhajan and include posture, breath, mudra (hand postion), movement and mantra (sound current).

Each class begins with a tune in, breathing exercises, warm ups, then a Yoga set followed by rest time and meditation. Kundalini Yoga is said to strengthen your immune, glandular and nervous systems.

This practice can energize and revitalize the body. It brings an awareness to the mind, body and spirit. Beginners are welcome. Read more

The Yoga Sutra's describe asana as "a steady, comfortable posture." In this second of a two-part series with Barney, students will discover a pragmatic and individualized approach to that steadiness.

You will learn specific alignment principles and adjustments to the postures, along with instuction on the benefits of each pose. Learn how to bring softness into your practice. Deepen your awareness of the breath and your own inner guidance. Read more

Hatha is a general term for Yoga asana practice, but tends to denote a moderate or gentle pace. All levels are welcome.
