Golden Milk
Golden Milk is a tasty drink that will lubricate your whole system and work to break up calcium deposits. It's also a good way to eat turmeric, coming to be recognized by modern medical professionals as a powerful anti-inflammatory.
It is very good for yoga students who are challenged sitting cross – legged for long periods of time.
Give it a try !
GOLDEN MILK RECIPE
1/4-1/2 tsp Turmeric
1/3 cup Water
1 cup Organic Milk or non-dairy
1 tbsp Almond Oil
Honey to Taste
- Boil turmeric in water for about 8 mins until it forms a think paste. (if too much water boils away, add a little more water)
- At same time, bring organic milk and almond oil to a boil. As soon as it boils remove it from the heat.
- Combine 2 mixtures and add honey to taste
For a change blend the golden milk in a blender (lowest speed) until frothy and serve with a little bit of cinnamon.
You can also prepare a reserve supply of turmeric paste by boiling a large quantity and storing in the fridge up to 40 days.
The oil provides lubrication and energy to the system, while turmeric makes the bones and joints more flexible

sesame-oil instead of almond-oil?
Hello Jamie,
Is it possible to replace the almond-oil by another oil, for example sesame- or arachid-oil?

Thank you for this recipe, I made it with Almond milk and it was delicious. What does boiling the turmeric into a paste do? and if I were to prepare a reserve, do I increase the water in proportion to increasing the turmeric? Seems like it would take a long time for the water to boil away into a paste.

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. Cooking the turmeric before helps to activate it. You can adjust the water to make a paste. What ever you think is enough. Exact measurements are not important in the this recipe. If you have too much turmeric it just settles to the bottom of the cup. Sat Nam, Jamie

I really like the sound of this and would like to try it- Dr. Soman says I should cook everything with turnmeric and ginger to help with digestion and inflammation. Where can you get the almond oil?
