Margie Steward (Narayan)

picture of margie stewardMargie (Narayan) Steward left her physical body in the Amrit Vela on March 30. Her spiritual name, Narayan, refers to the aspect of Infinity that relates to water and creativity. She was an accomplished artist and Yogi.

She will be remembered as a vibrant teacher with an immense grasp of the teachings and an ability to impart this wisdom on her students with the greatest of humility. She was full of light and laughter. Her students became her friends and her friends became her students. We will miss this Dear Heart immensely.

As were her wishes, her body will be cremated next week. It is a Kundalini tradition to chant the Japji by Guru Nanak during the cremation process. The Japji (Song of the Soul) resonated deeply with Narayan and we will honor her by gathering to chant it at this sacred time if we can. We may also chant as individuals if we can not join at the studio.

Seventeen days following her passing we will join as a community at Yoga Village to chant, which is done to facilitate the transition of the Soul from the body. After chanting, we will share a light lunch. Please join us on April 15 at noon for this gathering

Narayan's art work will be exhibited at the Art Center in downtown St. Petersburg in the coming weeks. We will post the information when the exhibit is ready for viewing.
