Meditation Superstore

Meditation is a hot topic. Coming with a strong recommendation from the likes of Dr. Oz and guests on Oprah, meditation is something that more and more people want to learn about. Here is a quick summary of the opportunities to practice meditation at Yoga Village.
The founders of Oneness explain that the states of clarity and deep inner peace that many saints and sages speak about occur as a result of this balance in the brain. As we receive the Oneness Experience, the brain has a chance to heal and return to its natural way of experiencing the reality around us.
The Oneness Experience is offered by those who have gone through a specially designed Oneness Course held at various locations around the world. Those completing the training, known as Oneness Facilitators, are then able to share this energy with others.
The Oneness Blessing acts as an amplifier to our Spiritual journey. If you are beginning a meditation practice, yoga, or any Spiritual discipline, the Oneness Blessing will accelerate your growth and deepen your process.
Gong Bath and Full Moon Meditation
This meditation event meets once a month at the full moon.
Yogi Bhajan, the modern force behind Kundalini Yoga, said, "The mind has no power to resist a gong." It is a type of meditation where you just lie down and the let the vibration of the sound bathe you. The gong quiets the mind.
Meditating at or around the time of the full moon is especially powerful. Gatherings at the full moon can help calm things down, reduce stress and find that inner peace. Meditation in group makes the meditation that much more powerful.
Other classes with Gong on Wed night at 7:30pm, Wed at noon and often at the end of Kundalini Yoga classes in addition to the full moon bath.
Kundalini Yoga
Students practice medtation at the end of every Kundalini Yoga Class, but in addition to savasana, employ a variety of techniques: specific breathing patterns, a particular focus, hand positions, postures, movement and sometimes chanting, mantra and sounds. These aspects of meditation involve the mind, body and spirit. The combination of all these things going together potentiates the effects of the meditation and makes this meditation different from simply relaxing.
Yoga Nidra
When practicing the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra, you lie down or sit comfortably in a chair. Complex yoga poses are not required.
Yoga Nidra quickly brings you into a state of complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. You relax deeply enough to let go of expectations and demands about how things "should" be as resistances to life gradually dissolve. This state provides a profound experience of well being, without the stress, worry and fear of day to day life.

Early Morning Medititation

Start your day in the groove with a six A.M. class every Tuesday and Thursday. Mild asana and meditation.
Savasana
At the end of almost every yoga class, students lie on the floor and practice savasana. Doing yoga poses has relaxed their bodies making it easier for their minds to settle down. This phenomenon is perhaps the essence of a hatha yoga practice.

importance in mediation
It has been said that there are 2 ways to communicate with the Divine Power, 1st is prayer, the 2nd is meditation; of the two, meditation is the most overlooked, underused and underappreciated. After all, we all know "how to pray" and do so rather haphazardly or habitually but how often do we seriously contemplate that prayer? Now meditation by definition is a deep serious contemplation on a spiritual subject...do you know HOW to meditate?
This statement is beautiful. In today's chaotic world, prayer just is not enough to touch that deep inner spirit, the true soul of an individual. However, undertaking a sincere meditation practice opens the doors otherwise closed to the soul alone; our realization and awareness of the spirit, the divine, and the world are deepened...enhanced to realize the true beauty of the gifts around us...and most importanly how each of us can share our gifts with those around us.
