Yoga and Friendship in the Mountains
By Becky Boyle
I recently travelled to Lost River, West Virginia to visit my friend, Margo Pfleger. Margo spends winter weeks in Safety Harbor and started attending my classes last year. After class, we talked about her mountain home, my love of the mountains and her desire to practice Yoga with others.
With no Yoga studio in Lost River, she had been practicing alone and wondered if I would consider visiting and teaching some classes to her and her friends. By the time we had scheduled a visit, Margo had started a teacher training course and was teaching to her friends and neighbors in a beautiful mountain cabin up the road from her home.
Lost River Yoga was more than an idea. With Margo's leadership and inspiration, it was happening. The scenic location and welcoming friendship of her Yoga community far exceeded my expectations.
This visiting Yoga teacher from Florida was treated to a challenging hike with picturesque mountain-top views and a cocktail party at Paul and Donald's gorgeous two-story cabin. We gathered around a bonfire for a drumming circle attended by Margo's supportive friends and enthusiastic Yoga students, who gave a generous love offering of $240 to our Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary.
Lost River is a special place and I felt enriched by my visit. You never know where Yoga might lead you and who you might meet along the way.

State-of-the-Art Hot Yoga coming in March!
